ODA ETB Project
A strong coalition with civil society organizations and communities is one of the four principles of WHO’s Global End TB strategy. Taking this strategy in to consideration USAID/MSH ETB project signed an agreement to work with ODA to contribute to the Eliminate TB of the National and/or regional effort with the financial support from USAID. In collaboration with OHB Oromia development association take the lead to implement community TB care activity to contribute to the identification & linking those missed cases in the community.
Overview of the project
ODA-Eliminate TB Project is one among various health projects currently ODA has been implementing with international donors. ODA has been implementing this project since October 2020 G.C. Currently it is being implemented in 20 districts of Arsi & South West Shoa Zones of Oromia region. One of the major activities of the project is mentorship & capacity building. District, Zonal & Regional coordinators are assigned to implement specific project activities where one coordinator is assigned to support two districts & motor bike is given as a means of transportation.
Project Goal
- Demonstrate decentralizing provision of TB care at community can contribute to effective TB Program performance; ultimately reduce TB incidence and mortality by 90% & 95% respectively.
- Indicates outcomes are affordability, cost-effectiveness and acceptability of TB care at community level.
